Docs/Administration/Notifications

Notifications

The bell in the header shows notifications about things that need your attention in the current organization. A badge counts unread items, and the count updates while the app is open.

ℹ

Open Organization Settings → Notifications to change the settings. Every member can see the tab. Turning notifications off for the organization needs the organization:update permission, which among the built-in roles only the Owner holds.

Each notification links to the page where you can act on it, such as Project Settings → Exports, the API key settings or Organization Settings → Members. The API key and device certificate warnings are also sent by email when the deployment has an email server configured.

Nothing else creates a notification in the bell. Governance alerts go to Slack, Jira, Linear, ServiceNow or PagerDuty. See Governance Notifications and Integrations.

Using the bell

  • Select the bell to open the list. It shows the newest 5. Select Load more to see more, up to 50. An empty list shows No notifications yet.
  • The badge counts unread notifications, up to 99+. New notifications arrive within seconds.
  • Selecting a notification marks it as read and opens its link.
  • Select Mark all read to clear the unread count for the organization.
  • Notifications belong to one organization. Switching organizations shows that organization's list. You only see notifications for organizations and projects you still belong to.

Read notifications are deleted after 90 days. Each person keeps at most 200 unread notifications. When a member is removed, their notifications for that organization are removed too.
